Takeuchi TB216 Swing/Slew Motor (Part No. 1306-00684A / T306-00684A)

Function:
The swing/slew motor rotates the upper structure (house) of the excavator to the left and right. It converts the pressurized hydraulic oil supplied by the main hydraulic pump into rotary mechanical motion.

Applicable Models:
Primarily used on the Takeuchi TB216 and TB218 mini excavators.

Construction:
The hydraulic swing motor operates together with the planetary reduction gearbox to produce high torque at low rotational speed. This combination enables smooth, controlled, and powerful swing movement of the upper structure.

Common Symptoms of Failure

• The upper structure does not rotate.
• The machine swings in one direction only.
• Jerky or unstable swing movement.
• Hydraulic oil leakage from the swing motor.
• Abnormal noise or humming during swing operation.
• Slow swing speed.

Possible Causes of Failure

• Internal leakage in the hydraulic swing motor.
• Failure of the swing brake mechanism to release.
• Malfunction of the swing control valve.
• Low hydraulic pressure from the main hydraulic pump.
• Worn or damaged planetary reduction gears.
